The Queerantine study aims to understand the determinants of LGBTQ+ health and ageing. We are interested in understanding the societal factors that lead to people who identify as LGBTQ+ having poorer health compared to heterosexual and/or cisgender people. We also focus on factors protective of our health, like social networks, queer joy, and resilience.
The Queerantine study originated with the aim of understanding the impact of the coronavirus global pandemic on the wellbeing of the LGBTQ+ community. We were interested in studying how members of the LGBTQ+ community are are experiencing the coronavirus pandemic, including accessing and supporting their wider networks and dealing with stress in these difficult times. Have a look at our pandemic-related publications.
